B.Y.C. Dorking Club!

Pics
I have an official announcement!!!!

After what has to be 5 years after seeing my first Dorking (Red) at Jamestown, VA, and searching and searching and begging and being blown away by someone who wanted $65 for a dozen eggs, I finally... FINALLY own 22 Red Dorking Chicks.... I know some won't approve but mine came from Sandhill and I'm just as proud as a brand new daddy to have em.

This is the beginning to a new era for me... I have a trio coming to me from Michigan and have several of tgrlily's eggs in my bator so they should have some company soon.

YEAH!!!!

Dave

Congrats! You certainly deserve to have your DREAM CHICKENS :)

Now we need to see some pics of those little cute stripey things!

Congratulations!!!!! Sand Hill Reds are a fine place to begin! I have raised them and know others with them. They need work--but practically everything needs work; they are not, however, in a desperate state of neglect. If you're willing to breed heavily and cull hard, they'll become excellent stock in your care. Get to know the ALBC website info on buckeyes written by Don Schrider, who's really quite good.

Cheers!

Already using the ALBC guidelines so no problem. Thanks Yellow!
