My BA pullet (22 weeks) was acting fine this morning when I let my small flock out of the coop but when I went out to check on them at 10, Maybel (BA) was on the roosting post in the coop and was acting like she was trying to lay her first egg! So I placed her in a nesting box and have checked on her a few times throughout the day but here it is after 4:00 pm and she is still in the nesting box with out an egg... 6 hours seams like a long time and I'm starting to worry, is this normal?

Sounds more like she is isolating.
How do you know she was 'trying to lay'?
