Do i give them grit with chick food? I'm a little rusty. Been years since i've mothered chicks.

commercial chick feed (ie crumble) is designed to be water soluble and does not require grit for digestion - however, there is good information out there on the benefit of having age appropriate grit available regardless of the solubility of feed being offered. If you will be feeding any "treats" other than water soluble feed then grit should definitely be provided. I, personally, prefer not to mix it into or sprinkle it over the feed (as suggested on some packaging and practiced by some folks), rather opting to offer it in an entirely separate container. I have heard of some folks having issues with birds over-consuming when first introduced to it, but have never experienced that myself.
