Every time my goslings see me, they peep. They are warm enough and seem to eat as many greens as I can chop up- is this just a greeting?

mine have always been very talkative...still are when they hear my voice...if they are fed, watered and warm, they are probably just gabbing at you and happy to see you...I love the gabby little things...I used to sing, "You Are My Sunshine" to the baby goslings in the brooder and to this day if I start singing it to the adults they all stretch out their necks and chime in...it is hilarious...

I notice Chinese are NOTORIOUS for chatting back at me when I talk to them or walk in a room. I would say much more than the other species I have raised. What kind of goslings are they?

Toulouse! And, ohmygosh, the sweet little voices melt my heart, I just wanted to make sure they weren't telling me something pressing and I was busy mooning over them!

Im GLAD im not the only one. I was going to put up a post and ask if Goslings should be this noisy. OMG!!!! I have 1 drama QUEEN. She was the 1st born, shot out that shell in under 19 hours from pip to hatch. Shes like a kid with the terrable 2s. She chats all the time Im down there but as soon as I make a move to go, she hollers and hollers AND HOLLER and doesnt shut up and I end up going back down there. If I ut them in the run in the yard, shes ok as long as I sit right there with them, but as soon as I stand up and do something she HOLLERS the lace down. She is soooo noisy. She is just rotten to the core and mom runs to her every need

Ha ha ha! I'll have to post pics indeed. I think I figured out part of why they are so fascinated with me- not only am I the bringer of greens, but I have shiny shiny jewelry that must hypnotize geese and ducks as it does chickens.

My baby Sebastopol Sebastian is just like that!

When he hatched, I was so worried about all the crying. Finally a BYC'er told me that that is what goslings do.

Sebastian is a month old now, but it still sounds as if he has a tiny trumpet and tuba in his nose. For the most part it's adorable. It's just not that adorable when I'm on the phone or it's 3 am.

Haha. Memorize their little voices now. Just wait until they reach their first breeding season! I think my Toulouse are sailors in the off-season. They sure have all kinds of nasty things to say right now!!!

My new Sebastopols do it all time.

Especially at bedtime, I had to wake up a couple times last night and let them snuggle with me...

They were imprinted on humans and I am "mom" to them.
If I'm not holding them, they cry out for me until they go to sleep, I pick them up, or they decide to eat/drink.
