Babies have arrived! Pics! And now with video!

We penned in a large section of our yard with chicken wire, and built a box with their feed and a heat lamp inside, about 3' x 6'. Water is just outside, but I have enough room for the water inside the "porch" of their house. I'm still trying to decide if I should lock them in it at night or leave it open? I locked them in last night, their first night out. I woke up at 3:00 am and couldn't go back to sleep! I'm a worry wort.
As far as predators, I know we have some nearby skunks, and my neighbor said she has seen possums, but I've never seen any. There are a couple large dogs that come up from down the hill below us, but my yard is fenced off. I'm sure possums could get into the yard, not sure about thru the chicken wire. I have 2 indoor dogs that use a doggie door to go out whenever they want, but they sleep inside, usually pretty soundly. Should I lock the ducks up at night?

Asking for trouble if you don't lock them up at night, even if you never see a predator they are there and when we have what's on their menu they will make sure to find a way inside even if you had a 12' high fence most preds can climb and I'd hate for ya'll to wake up one morning to the carnage of what a predator can do. Kaessa I hope Poke and Peek will be in with the 4 new girls. Just so much more peace of mind knowing they are all safe and sound.
I'm planning on locking mine up at night. I don't think I could sleep if they weren't. I haven't been locking the big girls up at night, because I don't have a house yet, but they never were locked up by the people who we got them from.

Yes you are right Miss Lydia. I just got back in from locking them up. Back to work tomorrow, which is going to be bad enough to be away from them all day. I just couldn't forgive myself if something happened over night when I could have prevented it.

They will definitely be in with the new girls. It's going to be entertaining getting them all in the same house, but hopefully by then everyone will be friends. I've decided that everyone goes outside during the day now, at least while I'm home. By the time they move out in two weeks, it should be a non-event. They co-exist ok already, so maybe by then they'll all be friends.

Yep, that's what it looks like. I was really surprised that it was the littles that are pushing around the bigger birds. Maybe it's because they've got them outnumbered?

They're getting much bigger, and feathers are really coming in now. Abba is MUCH bigger than everyone else, and I'm thinking that's why she's developing angel wing. She's just grown so FAST! It doesn't look too bad, and I think if we wrap her right away it should correct itself without a problem.

Attempt number one:

It didn't look too tight at first, but after about 20 minutes or so it was obvious that her breathing was labored.

This went MUCH better. One, she was a lot calmer. We put a towel under her feet on the kitchen counter so she didn't slide around, and very gently took off the old wrap and re-installed it. Most of its self-stick was gone, so we put a few pieces of medical adhesive tape on it. It went on without a hitch, wings are in the right spot, and she's a lot calmer now.

If you're wondering, everyone is panting because the brooder light is too hot. I turned it off right after this and all is well.
