Baby Ameraucanas

I plan on putting the calcium/grit in a separate container, but I have not had good luck with that. It quickly gets covered up with the pine shavings. Any ideas on how to present the calcium/grit? Thanks!

Any container that hangs will work nicely. I use plastic parrot cage cups and hang them on a piece of welded wire that's nailed to the coop wall. Also helps keep chicks from playing with oyster shell since I can hang it up higher for hens to access, but not chicks.

I don't know that Fleet Farm sells All Flock feed, but I will check it out and follow your recommendations. I use plant saucers for the grit/oyster shell. Some debris gets into it, but the sides keep much from getting in. Sometimes they kick the entire thing over! But, they scratch and move the shavings and will find what they need.

And by the way, I have NO food in the coops. Only in the covered runs that they get locked into at night. I don't want to encourage mice (or any other small critter) into the egg laying area. It's worked for me.

As with feed/water, elevation helps prevent issues with bedding/debris. Some folks use a lidded container such as butter tubs and cut a hole about halfway up the side, place grit or os inside to just below the hole snd affix so the hole is at least as high as their back...they reach in and consume what they need, but it is far more difficult to get debris in it.
I have dispensers for both os and grit that my resident handy-guy built me, they hang in the run
