my dog bit my new baby chick I've never had a problem with it but today 6/15/24 it bit it and now the baby chick seemed fine nothing wrong but later on I noticed its gut seem to becoming out from it behind and my dad told me to leave alone but i still called ever vet i could but they seem to only take dogs and cats. It's now 2 am and the chick hasn't seem to peep anymore but now the guts seem to only be getting out more and more. Please help me any advice would be good.

Out of desperation if it is not a big hole I would push the guts back inside of it and super glue that area back together. I know that may sound crazy but there is no other way you can get it to stay together since stitching it would seem out of the question. You might even clip some of the feathers or fuzz it has around that area off before you glue it. I see no other options at this point. Good luck with the little one.

It sounds like the chick has had a severe prolapse of the large intestines. There is nothing that can be done to help it. I would put it down so that it doesn’t suffer. The quickest way is to to take very sharp scissors and removed the head. I am so sorry. I have trained my dogs in the past with a shock collar used once, to leave chickens alone, but asking them to not get at chicks is something impossible.
