Hello
Today around 1:00 pm about 7 hours ago I was leaving in my car out the driveway. It was pooring down rain and had been all day. As I drove past some bushes and I had heard screaming from a baby chick. We had lost a chicken a few weeks ago and come to find out she had been in the bushes laying on eggs. I had no idea. Anyways I stopped to find a baby chick flat on its back with its wings spread out stuck in the mud with its feet flying in the air. I grabbed it and brought it inside next to the heater. I grabbed a crate to grab momma and the rest of the chicks. Then I found another one flat on its face with wings sprawled out also in the mud, I thought it was dead. I saw it blink and I put it in my bra while I gathered the rest and carried them to the house. So I have momma and 6 chicks in the crate and the other two in a bin. So the first one I found that was on its back (to make the story easier to understand I’m calling this one turtle) got dried and warmed up it was perfectly fine, I put her with momma and the other chicks. The second I found (pancake) had sprawled leg and once it was warm and dry I put a brace or stabilizer on its legs. She seems to be doing ok. I fed chick crumbles and gave water. I had to leave to pick up my little ones and when I got back turtle was on her side with her feet curled in shivering. I warmed her up and noticed one of her wings is limp and she is leaning to one side still with her feet curled up. I am trying to give save a chick and keep dipping both of their beaks in. They aren’t wanting to drink on their own. Right now I am soaking some crumbles in the save a chick and going to try to give them that. Pancake the one with slayed leg seems to be doing better then turtle. Is there anything else I can do? I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thank you in advance, Jess
