Thanks so much. They seem to be not under it but not totally avoiding it either. They are now sleeping like this (photo attached) and sometimes cuddled up. They also get up chirp ect... night time wasn't bad. The temp went down by 0.5°c to 1°c in the brooder. They seemed to have been fine. TksIt might depending on how much the outside temp drops. You only want one warm spot in your brooder anyway, let the rest remain cool. It sounds like you are doing fine. Watch your chicks if they avoid the heat lamp, then they are too hot.
