im sorry to hear about your chick, I have one that was hatched with a leg that isn't functioning properly, she cant stand on it, I feed and water her by hand, every two hours round the clock, like a real baby. drip water on her beak, and hold feed in my hand for her to peck. I found that if the chicks aren't finding the feeder I put in a stainless steel lid in the pen for them then put feed into it and then tap on it. the tapping sound brings them all running. I peck at the feed until they know where the feed is. Same with the water , I have a waterer, and put marbles in it so they are curious and then they drink. With the chick with the bad leg , she jumped out of her little box to join the others, and is adjusting quite well. I check to make sure she joins in with the feed, and the water, she is learning to run on one leg and hop. I figure, if she has the will to try, I have the will to meet her there, and help her. I love the chicks, they are like family to me.
