Baby Chick is dying!! I need help!!

So is it very swollen?? And did you name her yet?

The swelling has gone down some, and her skin is looking a lot better color-wise. Her name is Posy. She is still drinking her water really well, but she hasn’t figured out the eating bit yet. I’m going to feed her tonight.

Thank you! I really hope she’ll keep getting better. She’s stolen my heart, and she’s only been breathing for two days, she’s so sweet.

I'm glad to see she's still alive. I'd have her on newspaper instead of shavings because it'd be easier for her to walk on. You can make a Saline rinse, Boil 1 quart of water for 10 minutes and add 2 teaspoons of salt in it, and stir until distilled. Let completely cool before use. You can use that to clean her wound 2 times a day, or as needed.

She'll probably never grow feathers there again. And I'd never let that broody hatch out chicks again. She'll do it again.

So sorry about your chick. I'm surprised to see she pulled through. I hope she heals quickly.
