Since we're talking silkies for a min...here are a couple of photos of bearded silkie babies, you can tell right away if your baby is going to be fluffy around the neck or not. Bearded or not, they are sweethearts!!
You can really see the beard in the babies.


And, if they will have a lot of feathering on the feet.

Not much of a beard on this white one, but check out those legs and feet! They really filled out..

Some Silkies aren't bearded..makes a big different in looks on the neck area. She is only 7 months? She will fill out more fluffy, but she isn't beared, so she wont' have that fullness around her neck. She's pretty though. Here is one of my whites from the past..note the fullness around the neck..bearded. Plus, not all are as feathered at the feet. That's the breeding also. Trust me, yours will get more fluffy on the body.

When she is around a year old, she should be at her fluffiest. Not sure she will get a s fluffy as a bearded though. Don't worry, you will love her either way.

Chickens are sooo addicting! Started out with a few bantams, the got some Americaunas, then leghorns, red stars etc. This spring I might have to get me some silkies and a few ducklings! The Egg basket is very diverse, and is going to get even more diverse! White, Brown, Blue, Cream and Green Eggs! Small, Large, Jumbo and hopefully Duck Eggs! A boiled backyard egg with salt and pepper is very good! In the future maybe a few meat chickens?
