2 of our chicks we got for our broody. 3 weeks old now. Bought them from a "rainbow layer" bin. Any thoughts on breeds? Names are Cinnamon (darker one) and Joan (lighter one)

my girls are 9 weeks old as of Sunday. And they are absolutely beautiful. I added a year old Rooster named Mufasa. He is a Rhode Island Red. And he has been really good with them. Not aggressive at all.

Can't help that scarey memories come racing back to me on seeing chicks in a crate though

years ago a poor RIR of ours got punctured thru crate by a dog, you could hear her wind pipe whistle for weeks. She's good as new now though. Looks like yours is secure in a nice garage though!
