Hey!
I just incubated some eggs, and out of 6 eggs, one became a cute little baby silkie.
The chick is now 2 weeks old, but i have recently recognized that it keeps opening and closing its mouth, and sometimes turns it head from side to side. It also sneezes sometimes.
I have no idea what this is, and i really hope some of yall can help me, because i am pretty nervous about this! Especially since i DONT live on a farm, in fact i live in a big city, where nobody has chicks and house animals, therefore it wont be easy for me to buy whichever supply i need. I hope some of you guys can help me, and tell me what i need to do, for it to become better (if its sick).
thx

Is this your first time with chickens? If so, you might not know chicks need sand size grit to help digest their food. This is not available inside a house, so you need to supply it.

The motions of this chick suggest to me it's having crop discomfort, perhaps because it's been getting others things besides just chick crumbles. If I'm on the wrong track please enlighten me.

If you let us know what city you live in, we might be able to steer you to where you need to go to find what your need once we figure out what's going on with your tiny patient.

Hey
Yes, this is my first time with chickens, and no i didnt know that, thank you for that!!
The chick got cooked egg yolks and oats before, but other than that she got chick crumbles.
I don't live in the US but in the EU, and i live in a pretty big city, where there unfortunately isnt any vets for farm animals.

hey...
Unfortunately it passed away friday morning..
I did give it some electrolytes, but it didn´t survive..
thank for trying to help me tho, means a lot
