Baby chick suddenly crashing (need help)

The chick has survived the night but does not seem to be in any better condition from yesterday. Still not able to balance well and seems very weak, but managed to eat and drink and I gave it another drop of the nutri drench.

That's good news. Take it one day at a time. Sounds like you are doing all you can. As long as the chick is eating and drinking, there is hope.

Chick is still with us.

No better, no worse. It tries to walk and can take a few steps, then just falls over. It happily eats if I put food in front of it and will take some sips if I place it next to the water dish. It seems more alert than yesterday but its still early and I assume its been sleeping all night, so maybe its had time to recharge.

I don't really understand how its made it this long. A part of me wants to believe its still fighting because its strong and will pull through. Realistically, its been 2 days of this and I don't think it has much fight left in it.

I just wish I knew what was going on so I could make some sort of educated guess on if this chick has a fighting chance.

I hate to think about it but if euthanizing it would be kinder, I just really don't want it to suffer.

At this point it can't really walk. Still alert, still eating, drinking, and pooping normally. It will stand if I force it up but the second it tries to walk it just flops over.

doing a drop of the nutri drench about every 4 hours and have been using the vitamin water. tonight I steeped some fresh oregano in water and gave it a little bit of that along with some very finely baked and crumbled oregano leaves mixed with its food. I've been told oregano is good, but its just a shot in the dark at this point.

Can you try leaving the nutridrench as the sole water source for a full day? I have previously gotten chicks from ideal via the local feed store, and as soon as i got them home, i put them on sav-a-chick vitamins and probiotics for the first 24 hrs..

i think the stress of travel plus sitting at the store, then relocating again, is just a stress on them. I would see if it pulls through! It might!

The chick just turned a week old today... it was fine for the first 5 days, then all of a sudden. Could that still be shipping stress? The first chick I lost, that felt understandable. Went downhill immediately and died with 24 hours. Hurt, but made sense. This one was going strong then just suddenly crashed halfway through Tuesday.

The chick just turned a week old today... it was fine for the first 5 days, then all of a sudden. Could that still be shipping stress? The first chick I lost, that felt understandable. Went downhill immediately and died with 24 hours. Hurt, but made sense. This one was going strong then just suddenly crashed halfway through Tuesday.

I think it might still pull through.. check its butt for stuck poops maybe, but i think it can have a rough day and still come through.

Little chick has made it through another night, though I can see no noticeable improvement. Still just barely able to hold itself up and falls over when walking.

I did find this poop after cleaning out the brooder. Sick chick was in a separate box eating/drinking so this came from one of the other chicks. Is the Redish orange blob normal (like intestinal lining with adult hens) or is this worrisome?
