I have a baby chick that has a protruding bump on her back. It started out as true size of a dime and now it is the size of a quarter (has gotten gradually bigger). She also has a hard dark spot on her back that looks like her skin. I have applied trip antibiotic ointment to it, but not sure what else to do to help her. She seems to be eating and drinking. Any ideas?

Is that where her preen gland is? I can’t really tell

Looks like it may be from injury.
I'd keep it cleaned and apply the ointment. See how it goes.

Is she with other chicks that might pick at it?
