I am also guilty of staring at my chicks. Mine get the zoomies quite often. My other half thinks I have lost my mind staring at them so much

I love the zoomies! What a perfect name for it.

The family will be sitting in the living room in the evening and you'll hear the girls start. Adorable. And just as quickly as they get going, they pass out sleeping. (Reminds me of when my kids were toddlers.)

mine get it too and so do my doxies i call it the doxie run because they just run around and then dart back the other direction all with this great big "grin" on their face. My 4 week old Tink got her name because she was the first one that tried to "fly" when we first got them.

LOL I have 2 3-week old ducklings that do that across my kitchen floor when I let them out for play! My son said they look like baby dinosaurs

My little ones are 7 days old today (mostly) and they have the zoomies!!! And I swear one was trying to crow, flapped his (her?) winglets, arched his neck and made a screech peep. I've also seen what looked like a couple mini cock fights? Is that possible??? They are way too young for this. Zoomie little goober fuzz butts!

PS - My favorite is when I'm holding one in my hands and her head ssslllloooowwwllyyy starts to droop. And her eyes ssslllooowwwlllyyy start to close. And then she is sleeping with her head flopped across my thumb.

Were a covered family too but they get daily trips to the "run" box. I have a big rubbermaid that I let them run in once a day uncovered. they love to try to fly out. Nothing better than turning your back to fill the feeder and turning back to see one chick trying to fly off the coop door.
