Baby chicks are in the house!

Great setup! Enjoy your new chicks and best wishes in your new adventure.
I made the brooder box from some wood that I got for nothing. I purchased some stick on floor tiles and the wire for the top and screwed it all together. I used some hinges that I saved from some cabinets and put some little wheels on the bottom so it rolls. The brooder heater thing I got from Tractor Supply for 40 bucks. I took a water bottle holder from an old bicycle and a plastic water bottle to make the waterer on the left. Purchased a feeder and water thing from Tractor Supply.

Nice brooder set up! Congratulations on your chicks . I agree the little yellow fluff balls look like buff Orpingtons. Can’t tell the others quite yet.😊

Ahh too bad you aren't closer, you're the kind of people I like for neighbors! My son and I are constantly building chicken tractors, brooders, etc. We love to reuse things and only buy what we don't have on hand. Great way to save money. You will be able to reuse that brooder many times because it's so sturdy.

Yes, I like to save a lot of things that most would discard and then re-purpose them. I have been working on the foundation for our coop and I should have it finished tomorrow. I'll post a photo or two when its done. I usualy tell my friends that before you buy something call me I may have one or two of what you need. Yeah, too bad we are not closer we would make great neighbors!

Chicks are almost 2 weeks old now. Took some more photos today. They all appear to be doing well very active.
