Baby chicks countdown thread!

Could this chick be a rooster? I have a weird feeling it is. I hope it’s not! I know it’s hard to tell this young but it looks like my EE rooster when he was a chick. 1849C07A-332D-4191-856D-EF928919A956.jpeg

Way too early to tell. But I had an EE I was convinced was a roo…up until she was 16 weeks. And then I wasn’t sure. She was last to grow tail feathers, tall, and the friendliest of the EE (the other two were skiddish.) Don’t worry yourself too much! When patterning on feathers comes in between 8-12 weeks it will be much easier. ❤️

16.5 weeks left for my chicks! 12.5 more to set my CL & OE eggs!

Time has flown!

I’ll be setting eggs with my class for a May hatch, hopefully that will help make them time go faster even though I won’t be keeping any of them! (They have homes already). ❤️

I can’t believe it’s 5 days for you @Auntiejessi3 :celebrate

Today is a super cold snowy day. My husband ran up to the post office to get my chicks from Cackle Hatchery. I ordered 15, got 17 White Chanteclers, however 3 were dead and I don't think one is going to make it. I know that's the risk ordering in the cold months, but I needed to get going on these birds, I hope the future is bright for them.
