Baby chicks countdown thread!

Cutie pie! Glad they arrived safely. Definitely create a separate thread for advice on the coop to increase visibility and responses.

How many you have will help answer questions about the coop. In general I believe pine shavings just go into the enclosed space where they roost in the prefabs. As for a brooder, ours is a metal stock tank so we take it outside and dump it in the compost pile to clean it out.

i expanded their brooder, but am struggling to add pine shavings to it because I cannot fathom how I will clean it out
Shop vac. Move chicks obviously!y son had the idea and it rocks.

I am in a similar situation;. Overcrowded brooder, coop still looks like this. Hoping to get siding on and brood them in coop

Oh my goodness. I just got a notification from USPS that my chicks that shipped yesterday are currently in Virginia?! (I am in Minnesota!!) Not sure how they ended up going the complete opposite direction from Cackle Hatchery in Missouri, but I sure hope that is an error 😵‍💫

This just keeps happening with USPS, they need to get their crap together. They are not reliable at all, in any way.
