Baby chicks countdown thread!

This is nothing but some baby pics to keep you company until your chicks arrive (also from this batch we have 2 males and 3 females, the females names are miracle, (temp.) Spider, and (chocolate) chip. The boys names are Oscar and Slate. They are all half barred rock and Spider, Slate, and Miracle are half jersy giant, and oscar and chocolate chip are half sapphire splash)

I went to see my son and daughter-in-law in MT. When I was there I got hatching eggs from her mother, the roosters are Naked necks, the hens were different kinds.

I candled and removed one egg that had a crack.

Below is a candled egg, I looked for the dot of love, too...

Below they went into my incubator, I put them in the center, but not directly under the heat, and the white is a silky egg, since it is smaller I put it a little farther from the heat.

My incubator is 57% humidity naturally, so I didn't add water, I will on day 18.

Welcome! How exciting! Barred Rocks are my absolute favorites, super friendly and inquisitive (nosy) lol!

Well, I am sad to report that my chicks did not arrive at the post office until today and the gal at the post office said it was a very quiet box...

Cackle is sending out another order and boy do I hope USPS doesn't mess this up again by sending them across the country in the wrong direction! What an awful way to go, poor babies. Hopefully I have some good news to share later this week!!!

Did you ever get your chicks? Your reorder I mean?
I've noticed lately that a lot of stuff shipped through USPS is going right past me by several states and then backtracking! 2 times something got all of the way to my state and then went back to the seller and then came back to me.
They have one job....

I am down to 4 weeks (well 1-2 days under 4 weeks) until my chicks from the feed store come in! then about 3.5 weeks till I (hopefully) hatch some chicks! I will set eggs on Wed then wait 3 weeks). hoping watching eggs develop makes the 4 weeks waiting for the chicks go by faster. haahaa
