Baby chicks digging to China

Mine do that too. At first it was one one of the Buff Orps and I though she was having a seizure, but now that all do it. They do this crazy thing with the feeder too. They peck and peck until they get to the bottom then peck at the red spot they "found". There is one nail head that shows in the brooder and they all gather around it and peck it..shinny.

The other day I though that the two buffs (Buffy and Muffy) where ganging up on the Wellsummer (no name yet) but after watching for a while I realized that they were actually picking the bits of pine shavings off of her.

Oh pheww I thought something was wrong with her but now that I read this she is just dustin herself even in the shavings. thank you so much for all your help. this website sure has helped me out a whole bunch.
