Baby chicks wings dragging, what does this mean?

Please keep us updated, the chicks are all in the end under the light in the pic you show, so that indicates they were too cold. You can still save that quilt by giving them shavings!

I'm so relieved you were able to solve the problem- watch them closely, especially the ones that had been cold- is everyone eating and drinking?

When I had my chicks last May I was so paranoid, I was with them throughout the day and snuck down at night when hubby was sleeping!

yes they are all eating and drinking, and doing ok, i already cut up the qult but thats ok, i have a lot of blankets. plus i can wash the cutting and use them again. And the temp is now 85.

They are doing great, i put a red bulb in at night and coverd them the temp was at 90 every time i check it, i think finnally i got it.
And the ones i got seperratted are doing awsome but ill put them in with the others in a couple of days, i want to make sure they are strong enough. Thank you for all the help. ill keep updates on how they are doing.

oh did i mention that 1 did past yesterday morning? i feel bad, but i learned from the ones that did not make it.

We have a veterinarian who was called out at 3 am to a colicky mare. He dosed her and promised to return at 7 am, which he did, only to realize he had used methyl hydrate instead of mineral oil. Of course the mare was dead. I think she would have been dead anyway, it was a bad case, but he replaced the animal for the distraught owners. Sometimes things go wrong even for highly-trained professionals, and here we are, doing the backyard thing, and coping. Yes, I knew you had lost one, but you needed help for the living. You've learned a lot, and since you seem addicted to chickens like many of us, you'll be very particular about chicks in future. It's harder than a summer batch, that's for certain. The vet? I use him, I figure he's the safest vet in the province. He was young when it happened and I have never heard a resentful or careless remark about him since then.

So smile and enjoy them, they look like beautiful chookies.
