baby duck with lots of problems

Thanks Patti it is nerve racking when you have little ones. I feel a lot better about them being in the baby pen. So far I only see the one baby.

Que Sera and I spent the whole day outside. She did some mingling again today. She ate watermelon for the first time. She loved that and I gave her frozen peas thawed out but she didn't care to much for them. Yoo Hoo come over and chased her and then she turned around and chased him. She's still not hanging out with them but their getting closer. I know they were glad when we come in this evening. Every time I get out of her sight she screams. I told her if she didn't shut up the ducks were going to duck tape her mouth shut. That didn't stop her one bit.

Got to fix supper here.

LOL...I can just picture it. Que Sera being chased and then chasing back. I'm glad shes' making progress. How old is she now? She stays inside with you, right?

HAHA. Patty, that is funny. Your farm of birds is an adventure in and of itself. I am glad Que Sera is getting out. And that she is doing stuff with the other ducks like chasing and being chased.

We got a new addition to the duck families. Ronda Runner hatched a baby yesterday. She only has 5 eggs so that is more manageable then what Thelma and Louise had. I have 2 people that want baby ducks so I hope she hatches them all. Her nesting box was in the corner of the front yard and every time the baby was out it would run threw the chain link fence to the yard next door when one of the other ducks would come to look at it. Que Sera went over to look at the baby and Rhonda Runner run her off real fast. We moved the nesting box, eggs, mother and baby to the back yard and put them in the baby pen. They will be a lot safer there. I fed and watered them this morning and she still only has the one baby. I couldn't tell if any of the eggs were piping yet but Ronda is still sitting on them. This reminds me I have to collect eggs today. I hope this is the last hatch of the season.

Que Sera actually interacted with the ducks yesterday. Thelma come up to her and did her head up and down and Que Sera did the same thing. I don't have any idea what that means but she was copying what Thelma did. Louise come up to her and Que Sera chased her. She was very brave to do that.

I had better collect eggs now before we get another broody and take Que Sera out for a while. I hope everyone has a nice day.

So cool of Ronda Runner to hatch a baby. I bet he's a cutie. Que Sera is all over the place. Getting chased by Yoohoo and Ronda Runner. Funny.

This is Miss Wonky, I could not get a picture of her on the ground she kept moving in to the shadows.
The next picture is of her roomies

And the two bigger ducklings are her younger sisters, the little one is a chocolate Muscovy.

Miss Wonky is cute. Her little face in profile. Mmmm. Love.

I'd turn into a duck if I could have your cuties as roommates. Adorable.

Que Sera will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. She loves the game of chase that's her favorite. When I go in she comes in the house. She has a cage that she stays in. Thank goodness for her mirro she is happy with that and stays pretty quiet in the house. I take her outside every day so she can be around the other ducks and spend some time outside and get some exercise. If I walk around the yard she follows me.
