I took some more pictures today

Nicki and Eve having a drink and snack

Then they decided to try to get grass

Then Lil Kim decided to join the party

And there they are with their brother, Drake

Thank you. Yeah I know, they are huge! But yeah they are approximately 8 weeks old. Today they were running in their run flapping their wings like crazy... I'm pretty sure they were trying to fly. They are mallards, but won't it be about 2 more months before they can fly?
Yes the horse is mine, I have 2 and they are both curious about the duck pen and ducks.

They will probably be testing those wings pretty soon. You will see them doing test flights. Wow 2 horses I would love to have horses but I live in the city and I'm pushing it here with my ducks and chickens.

Oh and Patty, the reason I asked about the smartphone (which yes you have) is because there is a backyard chickens app you can get. Or even if you just go on the website through the Internet on your phone, and you can post pictures straight from your photo library to here just by hitting the picture icon at the top of the reply box and then upload from my device and then choose existing (then select the picture of your choice) and then hit submit

I'm showing this to Robbie. I knew there had to be an easier way of posting pics. I hope he can show me this way because I think I can handle that. Thanks so much.

They are beautiful. The drake will soon have that green color on his head. It's been so long since we had a mallard. He was our very first duck. It seemed like overnight he changed colors. They look so happy and content. I wish our grass looked like that.

awww I love horses too and these are gorgeous. Do you ride them? I can't ride at all everytime I tried I went off the back when they started trotting. lol Those my younger years and thats been a long time ago. Thanks so much for posting you made my day.

Thanks Patty. These are my first ducks
I ride the paint, Hawk. He is 8 and very broke to ride. The buckskin, Maverick, is only 3 and I have to finish breaking him to ride. I have had him since he was a year old, he is my baby. Horses grow until they are 5 or 6. But 3 is a good age to break them to ride. Hawk I got 4 months ago. They love each other, it's wonderful.

Patty, I literally laughed out loud when you said you slid off the back of the horse when you tried to ride.

As long as the horse walks real slow and goes in a straight line I'm an excellant rider. My hubbie can ride bareback with no saddle. His grandpa had an old retired circus horse and hubbie would get him to do all of his tricks. Now that's been way back we were in our teens then. I even had a saddle when I would slide off the back of the horse.

LOL...ohmygersh, Patty, you crack me up!! Hmm, wouldn't think you could slide off if you were on a saddle. Now I'm back to being too scared to ride a horse and here I was thinking that I'd like to try it someday. Of course, if I did ride a horse, I'd probably desperately want my own.
