baby duck with lots of problems

I have two crested (hatchery) khakis, Rousalka and Villi . I can't tell them apart unless I stare for a long time at their crests. Villi got in the pond, she managed to push back part of the fence that is against the house and just jumped in and started chasing fish and splashing about. She and her "twin" Rousalka and My Pekin-Rouen mix Pinhead would hang out on the other side of the fence and pace back and forth staring at the fish swimming around.

The light brown one in the front is Pinhead

Pinheads cute. I love her round plump body. I am impressed Villi figured out a way to get to that pond. IMO she saw what she perceived as a weak spot in the fence, reasoned she could get thru it and off she went. And to think so many people think animals are not intelligent.

They are cute as they can be. It sounds like Villi is the leader of the flock and the one that gets into trouble. I love the color of Pinhead it's almost the same color as my Yoo Hoo. Thanks for sharing their pics with us.

The ducks and the chickens were happy as larks this morning to have a big breakfast of leftovers. They had chicken(shhh) don't tell them and dumplings and buttered noodles and peas. The chickens left a little food and the ducks helped them eat the rest of what they left.

I went to feed Jeffrey and he had a little cover on him. Who knew a turtle likes to be covered. Hubbie covered him with a polishing rag for his motorcycle which I can't believe he parted with one. He said Jeffrey was standing straight up braced against the side of the laundry basket trying to get under his piddle pad. so he covered him up. He's still not eatting much but he does eat the bananas. I'm getting him some strawberries at the store today. I don't want him to get constipated with all these bananas he's eatting.

I love you Patty, youre always so funny. Leave it up to the ducks to finish off what others don't. Did Topper help? Hey, at least your chickens are getting lots of protein. I won't tell.

That is so cute about Jeffrey. He likes covers too. Even in hot summer I have to at least have a sheet cover me.

I like the covers too Julie must be a security thing.. and even turtles like to have security. I'm going to have to cook more so I have left overs to share with my flock. Poor things are being deprived.
Patty that was sweet of your hubby to give Jeffery a covie.

It totally is. I guess we feel vulnerable when we go to sleep. The covers are protective. I bet your burds would love some hearty morsels. The geese have probably a great sense of taste with those big tongues.

Julie , Topper was the first duck to get to the chickens plate. Of course. The only thing that stops Topper from eatting everyones food is a closed gate and locked.

Jeffrey loves his bankie he is covered up now and ready for bed.

I always have to have a cover or a sheet when I sleep too. I know that was sweet of hubbie to give up his polishing rag for Jeffrey. From now on Jeffrey will have his bankie at night.
Yes Patti you must prepare extra for the birds. They always get our leftovers and if they don't get anything they feel deprived. Ozzie got his steak tonight but he has to share it with Sissy our other dog. I told hubbie that wasn't fair but he said Sissy encourages Ozzie to chase the hawks. So I guess she does her part.

and it is always nice to share too. Sometimes I look out the back door and everyone is standing out there like they are waiting for me to bring them a plate of something. I'll have to do that soon. I do make fermented feed for them.

of course that isn't human food though.
