What a wonderful time. Me and the dogs. I really wish I was
smart enough to post pictures. But then I would have to actually
take the pictures.

My wife ran me out of the house. She's baking again today for tonights
family dinner and she said she doesn't need my help. I don't know why.
Could it be something I've done? Who ever understands women.

My woods are beautiful to me in any season. Even in the dead of winter.
Nice wide trails cut for walking or riding side by side. Not alot of down
stuff, we keep it fairly picked up. Even the briar patches are kept in check.

Not a sign of all the halloween that went on back there. Not as much as
a single pop can, cigarette butt or even a piece of paper. Just clean woods.

Porch swing back there. Nice place to set and listen to the brook run. Rained
here in the last few days, little stream gurgling nicely. You can see where the
deer come to water.

I can hear the neighbors cattle in the distance. He retired year, his wife has a
few more to go. She's my daughters teacher, by the way. I've known her since we
were children. My brothers and I use to steal watermelons from her daddy's
watermelon patch. I guess he planted them to close to the road and to far from
the house.

Someday I'll have to learn how to take pictures. I'll put that on my list of things
to do this year.

Meanwhile, my walk is over and I'm back home.

Still not allowed in the kitchen.

One of my most favourite things to do is take a long leisurely walk in the woods with the dogs, rain or shine. I am blessed to live in an area with some wonderful walks that take hours to get round and I can let the dogs run free. I don't get to do it as often as I would like but that just makes it better when I do.

Spook, your roots run deep in your neck of the woods. Don't see that very often. Everybody is too busy to put roots down. A shameful thing.

Tell the wife you have claimed the title of "Food Tester" and wish to start the job as soon as possible. Can't have bad tasting food cross your table can you?

And remember the Master Chef likes a tip now and then. The tip does not have to be money. Use your imagination!

I want a porch swing in the woods! But then, is it still a porch swing? I do have a hammock strung between two pine trees and I like to look up at the sky through the branches (until the dog barking interrupts my peaceful bliss...).
