So here goes another batch of Delaware eggs, thanks to shortcake/Tracy...But I can't get my incubator temps to stabilize for some reason. I bought a stupid reptile thermometer thinking it would be more accurate but the food thermometers I calibrated are reading okay but this dumb reptile digital is all over the place. I have it in a ziploc filled with water and doubled over to approximate the water weasel I couldn't find so I'd rather rely on the Sysco food thermometers which are reading (two) 100 and 101 but the dumb digital in the ziploc is saying 104 and I'm getting confused. I gotta get this hatch right...we're on day two now and I don't want to lose these guys. What should I pay attention to as a temp gauge? i'm now also doubting my hygrometer (also a reptile analog) which is reading around 45-50...I'm in a somewhat dry area about 4K feet up but don't want my babies to dry out...so any feedback? after my GOOSE EGG zero hatch of last month I'm getting neurotic (okay I have been neurotic says SO) but I really want to get this one right...Do I pay attention to the calibrated food therms or the stupid variable digital in the fake water weasel? AAAACK!?!
