Hi there everyone. I love my Brahmas and this is the only breed I keep. I have Buff, Dark, Lite, Silver, Gold and Buff Laced. Also some Lavender, black and lavender Columbians. My favorite are the solid lavender, just beautiful.

I have three buff Brahmas that should start laying any day now. How many eggs a week do you all get from your brahmas?
I think it's more the temperament of individual birds than varieties. I thought all 5 of my dark Brahma hens were being mean to the banties so I started removing them one at a time till I was down to one left in the flock and she doesn't even look at the banties much less chase them. My lights will peck at them if they get too close during feeding but don't chase or attack. Of the 5 bantams, one is dominate over the other 4 and one is very introverted...she snuggles under the big birds at night. Some problems may be caused by having a dominate banty.I also love my Brahmas, but are they typically aggressive to smaller chickens? We had ours in a large flock, so it was hard to tell, but I need to know, because now we live in the city and can only get a few chickens, and the brahma would be with some banties. I just know the ones we had didn't get picked ON, but weren't the main aggressors either. Also, is there any difference in temperament or egg laying ability between the color varieties? I have only had dark and light, and both the dark Brahmas I had were noticeably more aloof than my lovely light Brahma. Was this just chance or are light Brahmas the nicest? What about buff? I have never had any of them, but they are my favorite, looks-wise.
