("have to have one of each or both blue to get the blue")..

I plan to put my splash boy to some golds so wanted to be sure I'll be right!

It's the darn computer's fault! I keep having problems with it not saying what I meant to say! I probably just need a new one.

I am so happy for you!  It makes it that much more special when you know that you saved them!

:ya

I know and understand that completely. So happy I could do something for them even I thought the worst the whole time. I'm definitely eggcited to see how the remainder of the hatch turns out. Still waiting on the little guys in the pic. Will be #s 5 and 6. Will update when the opportunity arises. :)

I am brand new to chickens. This is my first flock ( if you call 7 a flock ). I am in love with my light brahma, hatchery chick, it is only 5 weeks old but is getting beautiful already. Can you guys share what you are think about sex...pullet or cockerel?

I have often wondered what the trick is that makes brooder always have a super hatch rate over incubator eggs. Now I know. I shall have to try this next time I'm incubating eggs.
Trust me, it has no effect on hatch rate (at least not for me). I had a Brinsea that would could off for 60 minutes every day till Day 18 and I got 1 out of 7 hatch. So broodies are the way to go

Very sweet bird!! I cant help you the sex as Im a newbie too and all of mine were pullets when I got them. I also have three light Brahma's, that will be three weeks old on wednesday. Are you sure yours is a light brahma and not a different colored brahma? Seems too be coming in to dark to be a "light". Here is a picture of one of mine last week, her feathers around her wings are really white.
