Backyard Brahmas!!

I hate to think what my hubby would say if I had 240 eggs in the bator...it would probably be time for me to find a good lawyer.

Im really liking my little gold laced brahma, can't wait til all the feathers grow in, and I am some hatching today, so hopefully will have more than just this one by tomorrow. 'He' is 5 weeks old now.

Honey this is R2D2. He needs charging for 21 days.

I am wondering something. With Dark Brahma so long as the feathers are coming in patterned they are hens right?
(I have one overly friendly 4 week old chick and "she" also has the most feathering on the legs as well as some yellow in the face.)

Girl? or ......

Yours looks like a girl to me. Check the similarity to the one in front in this photo, which was taken when they were one month old. She turned out to be a pullet, and the one in back is a cockerel. Both are Dark Brahmas, and even when he was three weeks old Sir Nigel had many feathers that were solid black. All of Neenas were "penciled," or rather splattered. (They are getting cleaner, now.)
