. Could it be because of Biohazard issues?

Hi, Thelma,

My partner and I are also dying to have chickens in our backyard where we already have an extensive vegetable garden. We have recently been looking into changing the ordinance. Dan Probst of Bagniece Farms out near Terrell raises and sells chickens, ducks, geese, etc. and is constantly giving presentations about owning backyard chickens. He even gave a talk a year ago in Plano at the city's request! Irony, it gets you every time. He says he has a list of people who want to own chickens. We just have to get the issue on the city council agenda which we are working on.

Having said that, is there anyone out there living in Plano who would also like to own chickens?

Jay in Plano, just a stone's throw, literally, from the Haggard Farm.

I am interested and know several other Planoans that are, too! I signed a "chicken interest" list for the Heritage Farmstead Museum a while back, but haven't heard anything.
Plano needs chickens!

I'm so glad to see a reply! Thank you! I am trying to get a list of names together of people who want chickens or who a supporters of backyard chicken. I have started a Facebook group for like minded individuals to join. Its called "Legalize Backyard Chickens in Plano, Texas. Please join and ask everyone you know to join. In Plano they are defined as livestock but we want to keep them as pets and for educational purposes. The more supporters the better! I will keep everyone posted of my progress!

Thanks so much for your interest!

Chicken enthusiasts, unite!!!!!

I recently suggested chickens be legalized on www.engageplano.com and was met with a resounding NO. I have started a Facebook group called Legalize Backyard Chickens in Plano, Texas. Please go there and join.
