Bacon..Bacon...I hate Bacon

2 things I cannot turn down: bacon and Cadbury Creme eggs. Not necessarily at the same time. But it would probably be excellent.

I've eaten Scrapple and Hogs Head Cheese (don't ask, because I really do not know what is in it. It's kind of like Scrapple ). I SO PREFER BACON.
 
I like bacon, I really dislike turkey bacon. I guess it depends on your point of view if it is healthier. It has a bit less fat, depending on brand, but usually a lot more sodium and added weird chemicals.

We have this funky microwave plate that you cook bacon on. I thought it would be gross, but it works great. The microwave contains the bacon smell.
 
Mmm.. bacon.

(Tho' some brands are too salty.)

A freshly sliced tomato from the garden over some bacon, a little mayo, fresh lettuce and on toast.... it's proof God loves us.

On the other hand, turkey bacon is an insult to real bacon and a crime against turkeys.

A few months ago I asked a coworker (who is east indian and doesn't eat any meat) What she thought of the smell of the bacon cooking, She said it was nauseating. I was kind of surprised.

Sometimes I think bacon smells like fish, salmon to be specific. Usually love it, but can't eat it if it's fishy.

I can not believe it would get slimey like overnight! Argh! Throw out time! I ve got a mind to order from the deli to cut off a chuck and bag it up for me and I have my own slicer. I hate to ask, what kind of bacteria am I dealing with?

When we cook bacon, we put it on the broiler rack and bake it. I hate bacon that's half raw and half burned, like you get when you eat out sometimes. In the oven, all the fat is evenly brown and it's just fantastic! Never too overdone and hard or underdone and icky. Mmm...

Have you ever used a small amount of leftover bacon fat on a wood fire, to help it get going a little faster? Man, that smells good!
