Bad Ebay eggs

I gave him a good review because packaging was great n no broken eggs.. its not that i gave him a negative review at all.. just was hoping they might send me some viable ones..
And maybe he would, but I highly doubt it. I have been asked to sell fertile eggs, but I don't, and this is exactly why. I hatch my own eggs at around 85-90%, but I have no control over how someone else handles them, or incubates. It's just too risky for me, and 100% of my sales are local, so I don't want to ruin my reputation.

When dealing with living organisms there can be no guarantees and the line has to be drawn somewhere or everyone will lose money and it takes money to live. I probably would have sent out more eggs myself but it's not fair to expect others to do the same. It's a business with a lot of uncontrollable variables. there are so many dishonest people they may have had problems with buyers in the past. The biggest thing I would be bothered by is no communication! You asked and even if they aren't willing to do that atleast answer and say that it's not their policy to do that etc.

Exactly - there are just SO many variables involved in the whole process, from packaging, to handling during shipping (not just personnel, but also environmental handling) and then how the recipient handles and incubates, that can result in a failed hatch and even failure to even begin to develop that there is no way to really attribute the failure to any one cause and say that a refund, replacement, etc is in order.

Lol.. i wish i was a lawyer... It was actually an old racehorse i had...

yeah it stinks that none of the eggs developed. I just know with other things ive sold on ebay, if the buyer had an issue, they opened a case. But i always refunded their $ or offered a replacement if they werent happy. But my listing always says no refunds or returns.

Thats why i was asking.

Thanks all... ill be praying for a $35 pullet...lmfao

Buying shipped eggs is like putting money in a slot machine, sometimes you win, most times you lose, or at least just don't fare well. This has been my experience with them. However even though there were disclaimers, the people I delt with were willing to reship... took a little time and many emails. It did help that 1 of the shipments was insured and the box was majorly abused by the PO.

But even with more eggs sent I only got 1 chick from 4 1/2 dozen eggs.....

There's good and bad with ebay...and sometimes. A month ago my wife ordered 12 serama eggs off ebay. We received 20 eggs; 8 from one location and 12 from another location-their attempt that we would have a good chance of getting some eggs to hatch. Of the twenty eggs 11 hatched and are now healthy chicks. Other times when we ordered eggs we had one or no eggs hatch. It is a risk.

This just happen to me bought 12 eggs they sent 15 and 9 weren't even fertilized when I cracked them open at 7 days for candling clear the yolks were intacked and didn't have bad air cells I only got 2 chicks from the fifteen. I know how you feel it stinks and feel some people scam.
