We were at Costco today and Ken had something in his hand and asked me "Can I get this?" I just looked at him and put it in the cart. He said "Thank you Mommy."
Bill always asks too, but only because I am in charge of the budget, and the only time I really tell him no, is if we actually don't have money in the budget. And we have a rule, that if it costs more than $40, we discuss it first. And I am guilty of saying quite a few times "Don't tell hubby, he'll be mad" but always jokingly, as he is my biggest enabler! We both have our hobbies. And frankly I think kids are way to sheltered these days. Both my mom and I have noticed (She works at the elementry school that I went to) that kids can't work out confrentation, they tattle about everything now-a-days compared to 20 years ago. Way too many parents put their kids in bubbles, You may look at me as a bad parent, but kids are supposed to get hurt, and learn from mistakes. All the fun play equipment was taken out of the playgrounds about 15 years ago because it was too dangerous. I miss the days of Metal slides that burned your butt on hot summer days
