Bad, horrible and good news Update

My kids are typical army brats, they make friends within day. They love staying in hotels too. During the last move it was like" Mom,Dad there is a Days Inn its time for break. THe only thing i still hae to do is to buy plenty of amish souveniers, maybe some baskets or so and a big supply of Jones Chips.

Connie, you will always be a member of our byc family, you must always stay in touch with us

Your children are so lucky to have a mom who can speak two lanquages. They are the lucky ones. Hope this move is a very happy one for you and you must tell us all about it when you get settled.

I can feel your pain! I wouldn't expect moving any time soon if you are planning on selling your house. DH should be getting his orders this month for his next PCS this summer. We put our place on the market Sept 2008 in anticipation of this and the real estate market and have had 3 whole showings, 2 of which the people either weren't interested or able to buy before they even got out of the car. We have resigned ourselves to the fact he may have to go ahead while the kids and I stay here until the house sells. Granted, if you live in town you may have an easier time of it. We live in the country with 10 acres and 30 minutes from KC.

My kids are ready for a new place and new school. They go to a small school now and the kids that have known each other since birth aren't real interested in making new friends.

I don't wanna highjack your thread. I can understand how you feel. I will most likely have to get rid of my chickens too when we leave. Maybe you can sneak a house chicken or two in. It doesn't say anything in the housing contract about no chickens does it?

I so know where you are coming from,(ret AF here) Hubby was aircraft Maint....so he was the one gone most of the time. We were pretty lucky...was stationed in OKC first 12 years, then Alaska for 6 years, then back to OKC untill retirement. However, you are right about the kids. They seem to make friends so easily being military kids. Im glad you are going back to a familiar place. Im sure everything will be smooth as butter, once the house sells. Wishing you the best of luck..

We cant afford both places its either here or there , we only have one car too. Thats the big issue . We might even end up in any place that does AIT. I checked some on pet policy and one says specificly they allow birds

i love a good techniccality.seramas here we come. We never had much time to prepare, three month at the most. Last time we got told end of nov and moved end of feb. Ft Knox does not allow farm animals and livestock. But maybe african ground parrots.

I rather move during winter because its easier to get housing , waiting lists are shorter then .Everybody likes to move in summertime. I dont want it to be as stressful as ur first move. WE got housing on 06/13 and our DD was born 06/18. I had to go to housing and tell them to gimme a flipping house because i was in labor. Heck we took Taylor home and we had NO furniture delivered , only a couch from the roadside, a TV and a blow up matress(and her little bassinet)
