Bad news...

Trisha,

I wish you the best, girl!

We have a small aquarium business and will be losing our top client in 2 weeks. That will leave us with 1 client and I'm thinking about entering the job market again at 42 years old and I'm dreading it. Skip has a full time job, which helps but it's still gonna be rough.

Tractor Supply is on my list of future employers as well as our local Co-op. I think I'd be an asset, as well as you would be one, because of our chicken knowledge. It amazes me just how little most of the employees, at both places we use, don't know.

You will still have soap right? Where will i get my soap???!!!! I can't take it if you don not make soap. My skin will shrivel up and flake off. My kids will hpound me for the good STUFF soap . I can't buy that other stuff in the store agaaaiiiinnn. ErinM

How many hours do you want to work and how far do you want to drive?

I think you can make more than $6.50 in that area. Home Depot pays more
than that. Small offices may need a part time receptionist. You have the perfect
disposition(pleasant) for that sorta job plus you have computer experience.
Don't EVER sell yourself short.

Be prepared for DH to get a little jealous. It's hard for us when our wives go
into the job market.

Up here I can make $18 an hour as a Home Depot specialist. I've thought
about taking the pay cut to be able to say "That's in aisle 5".

I can only work 3 days a week and no weekends due to craft shows. That's going to be a hard one to find. I figure with the holidays coming up there's bound to be a ton of lil job openings at retail stores. I want to stay close to home. We have a new Food Lion opening on the 31rd. Maybe I'll check with them. Of course if I was a cashier I'll tell people to put that nasty store bought soap back on the shelf and hand them one of my cards. I'll be fired my first day.

Trisha,
look for a seasonal job where you are busy when DH is not. I do taxes for 3.5 months a year. It always fits in perfectly. I work F/T for about 2 weeks then 2-4 days a week the rest of the season. I have been doing it for 11 years so I get paid more than the newbies, but I range from 11-15K and I only work til 4/15. I'm averaging about $29/hour which is really good for TN. But you've gotta love talking to/dealing with people. People here can collect unemployment also off season because it is a specialty field and there is no available work off season.

you could also tell them to put the eggs back and hand them the same card.
