So I've recently had my 2nd child (7 weeks old, other is 23 months) and we've neglected to notice that our favourite hand raised rooster has the most serious case of scaly feet mites I've ever seen! He has a large abscess on 1 leg and has become quite lethargic. I've got Avitrol in the cupboard so I've sprayed him with that but im
 
Oh boy do they take a lot of time!

I don't see any mites, can i see the Bottom of his feet? That swelling it really bad.. don't beat yourself up! He has feathered feet, I'm sure you couldn't tell at a glance!
 
He may have pecked at his legs because of the mites. Tomorrow, I would soak his legs in warm soapy or Epsom salts water, and brushing them gently with a toothbrush to loosen the scales. Dry them and apply an oil of choice once a week. Castor, coconut, mineral, vegetable oil, or vaseline are some that can be used.
