Lol.... I could see DH having way too much fun dressing the kids up in riot gear and playing get the rooster... Poor thing would probably end up so traumatized he'd start laying eggs!
Sounds like fun to me! LOL

My boys would have liked that too..even as teens, if I had let them.As it was my livestock and pets were terrorized enough by three boys being all the boys they could be...like the time they tried to herd the sheep using a rake and the riding lawn mower.
Or ricocheted a BB pellet off a tree and hit the dog in the eyelid with it...took him years to get over the fear of a gun showing up outdoors. Or the time I saw one of my very old layers with a big, pink spot on her flank....and limping..after there was a paint ball battle in the orchard. I was going to cull her for nonlaying anyway but I don't hold with unnecessary torture of the animals, so they caught it that time. They claimed it was an accidental shooting but I don't believe them. She started laying right after that and laid double yolk eggs for awhile before quitting again, that time for good. We laugh about it now but at the time I was not amused.

That's what THEY said...Said I should let them "paint" all the chickens to improve laying stats. Boys. Can't live with 'em and..well...ya just can't live with 'em.

I bet! I was a tom boy growing up as well and back then kids actually played outside, organized games of softball, whiffle ball, tag, hide and seek, war, Red Rover, king of the hill, etc. We fished, swam in the river, rode our bikes, enacted out plays, built tents and forts and various other odd things. It was all very physical and Mom would have to shout for us and finally threaten us to get us to come in each evening. Ah, those were the days......Sure didn't see many chubby kids back then.
I see there r a lot of opinions on a bad roo, and I thank u all for your input, he seems to know I'm boss now after our last encounter, he just walks away from me, so for now my home is his home and hope he is mine forever I sure do like him and agin thanks for the input.
Well I guess I should have listened to the folks who said he should go, today he got me good when my back was turned and I had shorts on got some nice scratches, so he is gone a nice guy came to pick him up today cause his mom wanted it, she thought he was pretty and yes I told them he was very mean hope he will be better for them
