Bad storms, MY CHICKEN COOP FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN!!!!! Happy Ending!!!

Lol, yes, you have told me to. I want LESS snow though, not more!

Texasgal, if you could call them, that would be great! I don't have any minutes on my cell phone right now, so I can't make any phone calls. Hoopeston isn't far from me at all. Neighbors all over here have sustained some kind of damage or another. I spent the better part of the day chasing crap across the yard or playing Red Cross to the chickens. Kids kept trying to catch the last hen that had been in that coop that flipped, but they couldn't catch her. She's out there alone tonight and I'm so worried cause I think she might be injured. From what I saw when the kids tried to catch her this morning, she has no tail. The rooster and hens we did catch were so grateful to come inside. They went into my back hall, found a pile of towels, and laid down as though they were juts so exhausted. We brought my portable gold pen into the kitchen nook and set it up for them until we can get them moved back outside. But now I don't know what I'm going to do for fencing cause the storm completely busted their entire fence, and I don't have money for new fencing. It's a frustrating and depressing situation. I'm thankful that I didn't lose any birds though. My Call duck that is in the Bantam coop, she's limping. The Bantam coop doors flew open this morning and the birds all came out. Can't say they are too bright. I looked her over but didn't see any damage, and she did NOT want to be in the house. so I put her back out. I made sure everyone was ok and no one was bleeding. A couple of roos got cranky and my Bantam Partridge Cochin roo and my Silver Lakenvelder roo tore each other's faces open. Normally those are two of my most docile boys, so I know they were just really stressed out. Even my most skittish hens and pullets were trying to get me to let them in the house. And it's suppose to be windy again tomorrow. Ugh...

Thank you, and I do hope they can help. It's so depressing to look at my poor birds camping out in my kitchen nook, knowing they are warm and dry, but missing their coop and not understanding what happened. I need to find a way to secure the coop to the ground better so this never happens again. The hens are all piled up under the roo. It's cute and sad at the same time. He's a big guy too, a 12 lb Cuckoo Marans roo, and the girls are good sized too. 2 Amber Sexlinks and one of my two Ameracauna/welsummer mixes. We caught Twinkle, but couldn't catch Sprinkle. I'm so worried about her tonight. I don't worry about the neighbor's cats so much, they eat, drink and sleep with my birds, but I do worry about coyotes and other critters. I'm hoping we can lure her out with some food in the morning.

If its any help at all I'm pretty sure coyotes aren't gonna be prowling tonight with this weather.

I hope not. We have a skunk that lives down the road too, and plenty of raccoons and opposums, so I hope they don't go hunting either. Winds died down tonight so they could. Sprinkle isn't the friendliest girl, but she's my baby girl nonetheless. We found the egg she laid under my neighbor's pine tree, but no other sign of her. I'm hoping she went to hide under that same neighbor's porch for the night. I'll have to send the kids out to look for her again early tomorrow. Mystery, my roo, is upset. He isn't happy unless he has all his ladies, and he's been growling and fussing. You'd have to know him and his personality to know what I mean. He's such a good, loving roo. He's 12 pounds of mushy love, lol, but he's just not himself now. Once we find Sprinkle I think he'll be much happier. My Sexlink girls, Omelet and Poachy, came right in and sat down, so glad to be in out of the wind and rain, but after they had a moment to catch their breath, they went to lay down in my back hall, out of the main traffic, and they stayed there for several hours. Twinkle even laid me an egg, very quietly too! For now they are resting, and tomorrow is a new day, so hopefully they will be in a better mood in the morning. My poor babies. I can't even imagine how they must have tumbled around as that coop flipped. I'm just so glad that they managed to escape with their lives. Some birds just really touch your heart, and this group certainly does.

So sorry it seems so many of us are too far to help. I hope these people come through for you and your girls. They must love you to still deliver an egg after all this.

You can also call your local news station. They have been showing footage here in Michigan about Indianas damage. If they were to air your dilemma, local volunteers may come forward to help you.

Good luck, I hope you get help soon.

My husband works for the fire dept here in Fla and I know they would help you if the Cowboy church cant , Dont call dispatch though, just go to your nearest station and ask the crew for help. I wish I lived close enough to help you out. Please keep us posted and Best of luck to you and your children, I am glad your all safe )
