About how many quail eggs do you think would equal one chicken egg in a recipe?

I'd use my scale, but ironically, I don't have any chicken eggs on hand at the moment. My only current layer is sporadic, and the rest are boycotting until I make the snow go away.

Well, if it's Bobwhite quail eggs, I would guess that 8 would be about right......

Mine are brown coturnix. Not sure what the size comparison is to bobwhite, never had both at the same time.

I use 5 coturnix quail egg to equal 1 large chicken egg. I measured 1 large chicken egg and it was 50 ml and found that 5 jumbo brown coturnix eggs equals the same. Hope this helps.
