One of my hens has had a bald spot on her butt for a while now from an animal attack a while ago. Back then I had assumed the feathers would grow out, but now it still looks the same. If anything, it seems to be more irritated. Is there any way to treat bald spots on chickens to encourage feather growth? Any ointments or other treatments? Thank you!

Do you have photos of your hen?

Have the wounds healed from the attack?
Do you see new pin feathers (new growth) coming in?

Is she with her flock? Could it be the other hens are picking and plucking out the new feathers as they emerge?

I dont have a picture at this moment but tomorrow I will be giving her a bath so I will show you a picture then :) The wounds have healed, but I do not see any visible growth on the spot itself. I only have 3 other hens who play with her who are very nice and gentle to her, so I dont suspect they're plucking at her.
