Ball No Sugar Pectin

Ugh! I bought the Ball brand because it was a few cents cheaper that the SureJel and I assumed they were the same, but I just went to use them and see they are not the same. The Ball brand gives no recipe for a less sugar Jam, and says to use Apple juice in all your recipes.......WHAT?! So, can you just use the 4 cup sugar recipe from the SureJel Brand using the Ball no sugar pectin? Anyone know?

Check the other side of the directions. You can use 1-3 cups sugar with the Ball brand, or 1 1/2 cups artificial sweetner (like Splenda). Regardless of which you use, the other ingredients remain the same - 4 cups fruit and 1 cup apple juice.

Oh, ok. But whats the point of the apple juice??

It's a natural sweetner for those who do not want to add Splenda, etc. It also helps the product gel.
