Ballerinas!!🩰 (and other dancers 😁)

As it turns out, a great way to motivate yourself to do well in ballet is pretend that you're one of your favorite characters, who is a bada** assassin, and did ballet as part of her training.

I really hate ballet, but the I need the technique to be good at other types of dance.

Who is your favorite character you use to motivate yourself?

I've never understood why places/people wouldn't be trans friendly and accepting of members of the LGBT community. I don't really understand the logic behind it-why does it matter what gender someone is, their sexual orientation, their identity, etc? Same goes for racism and sexism.
Hello! I hope you don't mind my jumping in here. This thread caught my eye, even though I am not a dancer (not only two left feet, but ten left big toes). I'm straight, but found the conversation very interesting.

Here's a thought process I had some 30 years ago about differences in people. Race, gender identity, sexuality, religion, whatever. (I'm 58 now.)

Say you are on the 10th floor of a burning building. The only way you will live to see another day is if a firefighter climbs up a ladder and helps you down. Do you care what race, religion, sexuality, gender identity, whatever, that person is? NO! So if it doesn't matter then,

IT DOES NOT MATTER. EVER.

Amen to that!

Hello!! I’m 17 and I trained in tap dance from 6-11 years old and ballet (extremely bad teacher) from 11-15 years old, and ballet with an ex professional from 15-17 years. I quit this last May because I have weird hips and it hurt to do the splits, grande battements, and developpes. But I still LOVE ballet and my best friend is a male ballet dancer that is going for pro!
