Ballerinas!!🩰 (and other dancers 😁)

Nice!
Our Jazz warmup is this:
1 song stretch
1 song cardio
1 song squats
1 song crunches
1 song planks
1 song pliés
1 song tendus and dégagés
1 song grande battements
1 song fondu
1 song relevés
1 song arm strengthening
1 song high speed toe touching in a circle
Then we carry on with class. And same, if we don’t have straight legs, pointed feet, or correctly rotated arms, we have to either hold plank until the instructor says so or something else (depending on how the instructor is feeling that day haha)
If she gets a phone call it cuts off the music because of how her phone is set up with it, so we have to plank through her phone calls  We don't have a set warm up, but it usually includes
5 minute plank
1 song crunches
1 song situps
1 song of something that I think is called rowboats??/scissor kicks/a lot of stuff that involves laying back and not letting your back touch the floor
(sometimes) 100-115 of these things where one person stands and you lay between their legs and grab their ankles, then they push your legs to the ground and you have to not let your heels touch the ground
10 ish pushups because we suck at them
10 ish pushups of suffering (the ones where your leg is in passe)
isolations (head, chest, hips)
1 song plies
some releve/balance stuff
1 song grande battements/pas de bourree/ ronds de jambe/passes/whatever she's in the mood for

She sounds just like my instructor 😂 She loves to make us suffer (jk [kinda]) through strenuous workouts and our plank is to crank that by Soulja boy, and we basically do it in our plank 😓 she loves standing in the corner of the studio and yelling out corrections as loud as she can (as if we can’t hear her lol)

Oh my, y'all are making me feel old just reading this... LOL!

black_cat, I love that you are working on a farm! What a great experience. And Coco is beautiful. What a great friend.

It's super fun! Ideally I'd live on a farm, but that doesn't exactly work out right now, so this is the next best option. Coco is very sweet-she's one of the newer ones (they got them about 4 weeks ago) and she's having a bit of trouble with integration. She's the only one that didn't squawk when I picked her up, and when I tried to put her down she started to perch on my arm. She's a very good girl.

Had ballet on Tuesday...was going to post this but forgot. My ballet outfit has evolved from 'ballerina' to 'ninja' because it's too cold to dance in tights, so I'm wearing a leotard under black leggings. (I"m dancing in my basement on zoom) I've successfully made it through a ballet class without freaking out that I'm doing badly!! :celebrate I'm also pretty proud of my tours jetes.

I used to work in a photo lab. One regular customer did a lot of pictures of ballerinas. Her work was some of my favorite to QC. Both for the subject matter and for her photography.
