Hello! Question on bands, I have a group of homers and I want to show some of there babies I will be hatching at some of the fairs this summer. Do they need to be banded to show them? If so what bands would I need. Can I use custom bands or do I need special ones. And where do you buy custom bands I want to put custom ones on my other pigeons That will be hatching. Thank you!

It all depends on what your fair requires. At a NPA show, sealed registered NPA bands are required. For racing, you need sealed ARPU, NPA, or IF. I think there may be a few other brands, that are less common.

So, I think if you need a band at your fair will depend if it is a young bird show?

If it is, you will need a sealed and registered 2020 band.

I hope this helps!

Awesome! Very very helpful! Now another thing, can I double band, 1 on each foot, one would be my personal band and one would be NPA or IF.

Yes. There is no rule on double banding,as long as it is not 2 registered bands.

the band can be right side up, upside down, right leg, left leg, stacked on another band. etc.

I would do one on each leg so there is more airflow.

I hope this helps!

Are Birmingham rollers the same breed as performance rollers?
Performance rollers are any type of rolling pigeon that performs in the air. So Birmingham rollers are performance rollers, but performance rollers aren't limited to Birmingham rollers.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to start a thread related to it! :)
