Bantam Ameraucana Thread!

Hi.. I have some lavender and silver bantam. All of them males. I'm wondering if i can breed them with the LF lavender and silver to eventually get bantams. My birds are Blehm birds. Will they be still considered ameraucanas? Have anyone done this and could share what you end up with? Thanks a lot
Yes this will work.Firt generation will be a in between size.Keep breeding back to bantam until you get bantam size.Probably 3 generations.

Reviving this thread...

I'm hoping to start breeding Blue Wheaten bantams this year. They've been incredibly hard to source, I've found several Wheaten breeders, but no one seems to be concentrating on BW bantams anymore. Seems pretty ironic as there are so many LF BW breeders around.

If I can't find any BW stock I plan on outcrossing Wheaten birds to Blue bantams to bring the Blue gene into my line. It will take several generations of hatching to get to pure, true breeding Blue Wheaten bantams, but I've got the time and genetics knowledge to do it.

Jeremy,

That's a long road. There are a few breeders with the blue wheatens and I think if you give it a bout 6 months to a year, they will be available again.
