Bantam chickens.. a friendly discussion about all pure and mixed breeds.

Been preoccupied lately--sorry for lack of responses here!

@pipdzipdnreadytogo
You're so welcome. :) Fantastic choice! Besides that, chicks are far more fun to raise. Of course not, who needs Wheaten AMs?;)

Definitely not me, no sir! :p

WOWZERS!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek: My jaw hit the floor over those beauties! :love:love:love Am I the only one who can actually SEE the Moderns' personalities? So many gorgeous varieties of People, too. Here I am, stuck with boring black.

The very last entry obviously takes the cake here.....those bones are simply perfect! :love:love

Aww, but the Blacks are so regal and clean... :love :love Those Moderns were definitely full of personality. Made it soooo hard to walk away without any. :love :love

It's been a rough past few days for the flock (and me). :hmm In addition to Nugget, I lost Teeny (my oldest Blue Red OEGB) and Sleepy Scott (Crele OEGB), as well as came very close to losing Tiny Titan. Thankfully, he made a miraculous recovery last minute. :fl Lancelot seemed ill last night, too, but seems to feel better this morning after a mashed potato break with Titan. :)

:hugs :hugs :hugs I tend to agree that this is a bit sudden for Marek's to be the culprit... Normally, Marek's comes on slowly and lasts weeks, sometimes even months. My best guess would be that they all ate something in common. Moldy food, weed sprayed grass, fertilizer pellets (though in Ohio this time of year some of those seem a bit unlikely...), something like that... Wish I could be of more help, but... Fingers crossed the rest of your birds are in the clear now. :fl

@pipdzipdnreadytogo I took updated pictures of Blue. I think he's part Phoenix due to his fancy long tail, & neck hackle feathers.

AAAH, handsome guy! :love Sounds like Phoenix is a possibility if he is a mix, although my pure OEGB boys have some similar tail feathers to him.

Thank you. Have any pictures of you OEGBs?

Yay yay yay!!
A little random, but My little lemon blue Pullet’s Coloring had been a very pale yellow for a while, and I was very disappointed thinking that was her permanent coloring. The past week I’ve been super busy and haven't had a chance to really look closely at her, and today, I noticed she is darkening and her yellow actually looks lemon now!!
:celebrate:duc
Tomorrow I’ll have to flood the thread with some pictures to show off my pretty lady:clap

Oh, of course! I'm reasonably sure I meant to attach some there, oops! :p Same two birds, just a couple pictures of each as their tails filled out:

:pop Can't wait!!

I've seen those ones before which is okay. Their tails aren't as stringy looking as my boy. Stringy is the only way I can put it.

Hm, stringy? I think I see what you're saying... More striking to me is his tail angle. In those pictures, he seems to hold his tail lower, more straight out than up, as compared to my pure OEGB boys. Much like how a Phoenix rooster holds his tail. :)
