Ok so as of today "Faith" has a red comb and wattles at 3weeks and a day old. This clinches it right?

Also little "Grace" 's comb just got pink even though " she is the furthest behind in development. I'll keep you posted but, "Hope" may be my last and only hope for a mottled Cochin hen.
I say the one with less feathers and bigger comb is a boy and the other is a girl
They look 2 1/2 weeks to me
Quote:I have two bantam Cochins and two silkies that are 25 weeks old. One of them started laying last Saturday and today another one states laying! Just trying to figure out whats coming from who. Is the brown egg the Cochin and the light cream the silkie? Also the one I found today had a little blood on it, is this normal for a pullets first egg?

What colors are your hens? Some blood is normal as the cloaca stretches out. I think all silkies lay white eggs regardless of color, but I'm not positive. I believe the brown egg is from a cochin. My blacks lay eggs that color.
