bantam cochins - i think i got messed with :( (pics, need help!)

I don't know - happens to me too. I hatched 7 EE's and it looks like all 7 are cockerals.

Ask him how many weeks are in his months while you're at it. Maybe he meant they were 2 months old...

When I saw how tiny they are, I said "those aren't 3 months old" and he assured me that yes, they were "around that age".

I don,t mind chicks but I mind being lied to... I'm sending him an email right now asking how he's going to fix the problem.

Sigh

The key word in that statement being "around". In other words he don't know for sure. Go see my only hold out for a girl EE and see what you think

And that one is 9 weeks old and one of the slowest featherers (made up word) I have had. It has more tail that either of those two.

I think Mango is a boy, but they could be 10-12 weeks old. I have a few cochin frizzles that feathered out WAY slower than their flockmates and are about half the size of the others. They are 20 weeks old not and still much smaller than the others. They could easily be mistaken for 12 weeks olds.

If I lived closer, I'd take Mango in a heart beat. I have one partridge cochin banty pullet that I adore. Her name is Pretty Girl, I would love to have a roo for her.

OP here... thank you for your input - I've emailed the breeder and am waiting for a reply.

Question - can you ID this breed by feather pattern? I do see a difference in feather color between the two (in addition to the size in comb/wattles).

I don't think this guy is very good at sexing chicks so any help I can give him will benefit everyone...

Thank you!
